Official Besiktas JK Tickets

Face Value

Turkish Super Lig stadiums operate under a mandatory fan identification system. Every person entering Tüpraş Stadyumu must have a registered Passo Taraftar card - without one, you cannot enter. International visitors must register online before arrival in Istanbul. Once your card is active, tickets are purchased via the BJK SuperApp or the official ticket platform at bilet.bjk.com.tr.

Passo Taraftar card - your first step:
  • Every person entering a Super Lig stadium in Turkey requires a registered Passo Taraftar card linked to their identity
  • International visitors register online at passo.com.tr (available in English) using passport details and a phone number
  • The Passo Taraftar digital app allows QR code entry even before a physical card arrives
  • Your passport must be brought to the stadium alongside the Passo card
  • Apply well before your trip - processing can take several days and tickets cannot be purchased until the account is active
KaraKartal+ membership - priority access:
  • KaraKartal+ (Black Eagle+) is the main supporter membership tier within the BJK SuperApp
  • Members receive priority ticket access before general sale opens for home Super Lig fixtures
  • Additional benefits include cashback at partner stores and match notifications
  • The name references the club's nickname: Kara Kartal (Black Eagles)
General sale and match availability:
  • For standard Super Lig fixtures against mid-table opponents, tickets are generally available once the priority windows close
  • Istanbul derbies (vs. Galatasaray, vs. Fenerbahce) are extremely competitive - book as early as possible
  • Tickets sold through bilet.bjk.com.tr once your Passo account is active
  • Bags larger than A4 are not permitted inside the stadium
  • No alcohol is sold inside the stadium - Turkish Super Lig regulations prohibit alcohol sales at matches
💡

Besiktas Ticket Strategy

  • Register your Passo Taraftar account at least 2 weeks before your visit - the processing time can catch visitors out if left too late
  • For Istanbul derbies vs. Galatasaray or Fenerbahce, use LFT well in advance - official general sale is exhausted rapidly
  • Bring your passport to the stadium - it is required at the gate alongside your Passo card, and security checks are thorough
  • No bags larger than A4 - pack light for matchday

💡

Pre-Match in Besiktas

  • No alcohol inside the stadium - have drinks at Kazan, Forza Pub, or the fish market area before heading in
  • The march from the district to the stadium is part of the experience - join the crowd rather than arriving separately
  • The fish market tradition is genuinely Istanbul - street food and tea with thousands of supporters before a Super Lig match is unlike anything in western European football

Matchday Traditions and Atmosphere

Carsi - The Fans Against Everything

Carsi (pronounced Charshu) is Besiktas's most famous ultra group and one of the most distinctive supporter movements in world football. Founded in 1982 by young fans from the Besiktas bazaar district, their motto translates as 'Carsi is against everything' - a deliberately anti-establishment stance that extends beyond football into social and political commentary. Their designated stronghold in Tüpraş Stadyumu holds roughly 6,000 season pass holders in the Kapali (Covered Stand). Carsi has participated in charity work, social protests, and anti-racism campaigns. At their peak, they were one of the most politically active fan groups in European football. The atmosphere they generate is remarkable.

The Besiktas Fish Market Pre-Match

The traditional pre-match gathering for Besiktas supporters is in the Besiktas district itself, around the fish market and the surrounding streets. Fans gather to eat street food (doner, kokorec, lahmacun) at tables and from stalls before the march to the stadium. It is a ritual that has continued across multiple stadiums and decades, and it gives the matchday a distinctly Istanbul character that no modern hospitality area can replicate.

The Bosphorus Setting

Tüpraş Stadyumu sits on the European shore of the Bosphorus, immediately adjacent to Dolmabahce Palace. The approach along the waterfront is one of the great stadium approaches in European football. The stadium replaced the historic Inonu Stadium on the same site in 2016, and the new ground maintains the extraordinary setting - water on one side, the palace on another, and Istanbul's silhouette across the strait. Arriving by ferry from the Asian side is the most memorable way to reach a match.

The 1903 Identity

Besiktas JK was founded in 1903, making it Turkey's oldest major sports club. The founding year is woven through the club's identity - the 1903 Lounge at the stadium, the KaraKartal+ membership tier, and the design of the current crest all reference it. The Black Eagles (Kara Kartal) nickname dates to the same period. Three consecutive Super Lig titles in the early 2020s gave the club its first sustained period of domestic dominance for a generation.

💡

Visitor Tips

  • Arrive via ferry from Kadikoy or Eminonu if possible - approaching Tüpraş Stadyumu by water along the Bosphorus is genuinely spectacular
  • No alcohol inside the stadium - drink before at the fish market area or Forza Pub
  • The Carsi section generates extraordinary atmosphere - if you can get near the Kapali Stand, the experience is unlike most European grounds
