Important: Dinamo are moving out of the ageing Maksimir during the 2026/27 season into a rebuilt Stadion Kranjceviceva while a new Maksimir is constructed, so always confirm the venue for your match on the club site before travelling.

- • Regular SuperSport HNL matches: Widely available at low prices through the official online portal, usually right up to matchday. This is the easy case
- • Hajduk Split (the Eternal Derby / Vjeciti derbi) and Champions League or Europa League nights: High demand, often sold out. Hospitality or a verified marketplace is the realistic route
- • Croatian Cup and lower-demand fixtures: Good availability at face value direct from the club
- • Dinamo dominate Croatian football and play in Europe most seasons, so the calendar mixes easy-to-get league games with a handful of very hard tickets
How to buy as a visitor:
- • Tickets are sold online at tickets.gnkdinamo.hr. The club has moved to fully online sales to cut queues before matches
- • You do not need club membership to buy a single-match ticket for regular fixtures. Membership is only required to buy a season ticket
- • Tickets are held in your account and entry is by QR code, shown from the 'My tickets' section of the portal
- • Bring photo ID. Croatian matches can require ID checks at the gate, particularly for higher-profile games
Membership and season tickets (context):
- • Season tickets are sold only to supporters with valid Dinamo membership, and went on sale for the 2026/27 season from 1 July
- • Members get a benefit of four free tickets per calendar year for SuperSport HNL and Croatian Cup matches of their choice, though this does not apply to derby matches unless the club decides otherwise
- • For a one-off visit you almost never need membership. Buy the single-match ticket online and go
For the matches that sell out:
- • For the Hajduk derby and European fixtures, official tickets disappear fast. Check hospitality (the club's D Zone) or a verified resale platform
- • European away and neutral fans should follow their own club's official allocation for those games rather than the general portal
- • Our take: for a normal league game, buy direct and keep it simple. Only look at hospitality or marketplaces for the derby or a European night

Getting to Stadion Maksimir
Zagreb's tram network (ZET) is the best way to reach Maksimir. The stadium sits on Maksimirska cesta in the northeast of the city, and several tram lines run right past it. Trams are frequent, cheap and far more reliable on matchdays than driving. Note: during the 2026/27 season some Dinamo home games move to the rebuilt Stadion Kranjceviceva in the Tresnjevka area west of the centre, which is also tram-served, so confirm your venue before you set off.

The pub scene splits between one strong option right by the ground and the busy central bar districts you pass through on the way in. Ozujsko Pub Maksi next to the stadium is the natural matchday base, while central Zagreb's Tkalciceva and Opatovina streets are lined with bars, connected to Maksimir by a short tram ride. Note: Ozujsko Pub Maksi sits beside Maksimir specifically; if your fixture has moved to the temporary Kranjceviceva venue during the redevelopment, use the central Tkalciceva bars instead and confirm your venue first. All the spots below are Dinamo or neutral-friendly. Hajduk Split are based in a different city, so there is no rival-territory issue within Zagreb, but do not go looking for Hajduk-associated venues on a derby day.

A long-standing Zagreb brewpub owned by the Medvedgrad craft brewery, with a huge terrace spilling down Tkalciceva and its own beers on tap. A classic first stop in the central bar district before taking the tram out to Maksimir, with sports shown on the terrace in season.

Matchday Traditions & Atmosphere
Pre-Match Build-Up
Maksimir sits in the leafy Maksimir district in the northeast of Zagreb, about 4km from the main square, next to the city's big park and zoo. Fans arrive along Maksimirska cesta by tram, and the bars near the ground fill up before kickoff. Ozujsko Pub Maksi, right by the stadium, is the main pre-match gathering spot, while many supporters drink in the central Tkalciceva and Opatovina bar districts first and take the tram out. Blue is the club colour, and scarf sellers set up on the approaches for bigger games.
Inside Maksimir
The noise comes from the North Stand (Sjever), home of the Bad Blue Boys, the ultras group founded on 17 March 1986. On their day they produce large tifos, flags, flares and non-stop chanting, and the group takes its identity seriously through its fanzine Dinamov sjever (Dinamo's North). One honest caveat: the Bad Blue Boys have a long-running feud with the club's management and have staged boycotts over the years, so the atmosphere can swing from ferocious to subdued depending on the political mood between fans and the board. The East Stand has been closed to spectators since the March 2020 Zagreb earthquake, and the ground as a whole is old and due for redevelopment.
The Eternal Derby (vs Hajduk Split)
Dinamo against Hajduk Split is the Eternal Derby (Vjeciti derbi), the defining fixture of Croatian football and a clash between the capital and the coast. Hajduk are based in Split, a different city, so there is no shared-ground or shared-neighbourhood risk in Zagreb, but this is a serious rivalry and visiting fans should not seek out Hajduk-associated spots. When the two meet at Maksimir it is the hardest ticket of the domestic season and the one match where the Bad Blue Boys reliably bring their full display.
Post-Match
After the final whistle, trams along Maksimirska cesta back toward the centre get busy, so expect a short wait. Most visitors head back into central Zagreb, where the bar scene around Tkalciceva, Opatovina and the main square runs late. The city centre is compact and walkable once you are back, making it easy to find food and a drink after the game.
