Official Eintracht Frankfurt Tickets

Face Value

Eintracht Frankfurt sell match tickets through their official platform at stores.eintracht.de. Club membership is required to purchase directly, though the official Ticketboerse exchange and the face-value resale system give international visitors a realistic route in. Every match ticket doubles as a free RMV public transport pass on matchday.

Quick reality check for visitors:
  • Derby matches (Darmstadt, Mainz, Kaiserslautern) and Champions League nights: High demand, members-only priority. Hospitality or official exchange are your best options
  • Mid-table Bundesliga: Good availability for members in general sale. Non-members should check the Ticketboerse exchange as season ticket holders regularly release seats
  • DFB-Pokal early rounds and lower-demand fixtures: Best target for first-time visitors. General sale opens wider and the exchange often has seats
  • Nordwestkurve standing section: Atmosphere is exceptional but this is ultra territory. The Gegengerade and Ostkurve seats offer excellent views with a slightly less intense experience
The membership system:
  • Club membership (Mitgliedschaft) costs a small annual fee and is available to international fans via mitglied.eintracht.de - the site has English-language applications
  • Membership allows you to purchase one ticket per membership. If you need two tickets, you need two memberships
  • With 155,000 members, Eintracht is one of the largest club memberships in German football - demand for popular fixtures is genuinely high
  • Membership unlocks access to the main ticket shop at stores.eintracht.de, where fixtures go on sale weeks before matchday
The Ticketboerse (your backup plan):
  • Eintracht's official Ticketboerse at stores.eintracht.de/tickets/info-service/unsere-ticketboerse/ lets season ticket holders resell unused seats at face value
  • Tickets are sold at the original price minus a small service fee - this is the safest and cheapest secondary option
  • Access the Ticketboerse through the mainaqila app or the official website. An Eintracht account is required to purchase
  • Check availability regularly in the weeks leading up to the match - release patterns are unpredictable but seats do appear
German ticket rules - important for visitors:
  • Bundesliga tickets in Germany are name-personalized. Your name is printed on the ticket and ID may be checked at the gate
  • Do not buy personalized tickets from third-party sellers - entry can be denied if the name on the ticket does not match your ID
  • The Ticketboerse handles name-transfer correctly - this is why it is the recommended secondary option over third-party resale platforms
  • Digital tickets are standard via the mainaqila app. Have your phone charged and the app installed before arriving at the stadium
KombiTicket - free public transport included:
  • Every Eintracht Frankfurt match ticket is also a valid RMV public transport ticket on matchday - valid for five hours before kickoff and until close of operations after the match
  • Covers all RMV services including S-Bahn lines to and from the airport, trams, and city buses across the Frankfurt RMV zone
  • Only the original printed KombiTicket is valid - copies and reservation confirmations are not accepted. For online tickets, a named KombiTicket can be printed separately via the official ticketing site
  • This makes the stadium genuinely car-free accessible from anywhere in the Frankfurt metropolitan area at no extra cost
💡

Ticket Strategy for International Visitors

  • Join the club as a member via mitglied.eintracht.de - the English-language application process takes two to three weeks, so plan ahead. Membership opens the full ticket shop
  • Even without membership, the Ticketboerse exchange regularly has seats for mid-table Bundesliga fixtures at face value. Check in the two to three weeks before the match
  • DFB-Pokal second and third round home games are the most accessible for first-time visitors - demand drops significantly outside the top Bundesliga fixtures
  • Every ticket includes free public transport via RMV on matchday - factor this in when choosing where to stay. You can be anywhere in the Frankfurt area and still get to the ground at no extra cost

Secondary market platforms for sold-out fixtures. Due to German ticket personalization, only use platforms that confirm the name-transfer process or offer full refund protection if entry is denied.

Marketplace Safety Tips

  • The official Eintracht Ticketboerse (stores.eintracht.de) is the safest and cheapest secondary option for Bundesliga tickets - use this before third-party platforms
  • Bundesliga tickets are personalized with name and ID verification at the gate. Third-party resale carries genuine risk if the name on the ticket cannot be transferred to yours
  • For Champions League and Europa League fixtures, prices spike sharply on secondary markets. Book as early as possible once the fixture is confirmed
  • Compare prices across platforms - Eventim fanSALE typically has the most competitive secondary pricing for German domestic fixtures

Vibe: Boutique / Forest Setting | Rating: 8.4 | Matchday: Unbeatable for matchday logistics - 5 minutes on foot to the gates. The downside is that it is not walkable to Sachsenhausen's pre-match pub scene, so factor in the tram or S-Bahn for the evening build-up.

Frankfurt Hotel Strategy for Eintracht Matches

  • Frankfurt Airport is only 6 minutes by S-Bahn from the Stadion stop - you can land at FRA, leave your bags at the hotel, and be in the stadium within an hour of landing. Factor this into your itinerary
  • Book well in advance for European fixtures and Derby matches - Frankfurt is a major conference city and hotels fill quickly regardless of football

S-Bahn

Recommended

RMV (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund) S-Bahn

Frankfurt (Main) Stadion

10-15 minute walk to Deutsche Bank Park gates | S7, S8, S9 | From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (central station): Take S7, S8, or S9 towards Frankfurt Flughafen Regional (Airport) - Stadion is the next stop after Hauptbahnhof underground platforms, around 6 minutes. From Frankfurt Airport: Take S8 or S9 towards Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof - Stadion is the first or second stop, around 6 minutes from the airport terminal (Regionalbahnhof under Terminal 1). On matchdays, services run every 3-5 minutes with additional capacity trains.

Journey time: Around 6 minutes from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Around 6 minutes from Frankfurt Airport (Terminal 1 S-Bahn station).
Frequency: Every 10-15 minutes standard service, every 3-5 minutes on matchdays with additional trains.
Cost: Free on matchday with a valid Eintracht Frankfurt KombiTicket (your match ticket). Otherwise standard RMV single fare - check rmv.de for current prices.

Tips:

  • Your match ticket is a valid KombiTicket for all RMV services on matchday - show it if inspected. Only the original printed ticket or named digital KombiTicket is valid, not copies
  • Arrive at Stadion stop at least 30-40 minutes before kickoff. The 10-15 minute walk to the gates means late arrivals can miss the start
  • After the match, the S-Bahn fills quickly. Allow 10-15 minutes for the crowd to thin slightly, or walk towards Niederrad for a less crowded platform
  • From Frankfurt Airport, the S8/S9 S-Bahn is directly below Terminal 1 (Regionalbahnhof). Follow signs for S-Bahn, not the ICE high-speed platforms

Tram

VGF Tram

Stadion (Tram terminus on matchdays)

10-15 minute walk to Deutsche Bank Park gates | Tram 21 | Tram 21 runs from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof directly to the stadium on matchdays, with departures every 3 minutes during peak matchday service. The tram stop is on the surface level outside the Hauptbahnhof, not the underground S-Bahn platforms. On matchdays Tram 21 provides additional capacity and is a good option if the S-Bahn platforms are crowded.

Journey time: Around 20-25 minutes from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof to Stadion stop.
Frequency: Every 3 minutes on matchdays.
Cost: Free on matchday with a valid KombiTicket.

Tips:

  • Tram 21 is the surface alternative to the S-Bahn - useful if underground platforms are very crowded before kickoff
  • The tram is slower than the S-Bahn (20-25 minutes vs 6 minutes) but runs at street level and is easier to navigate with bags

Walking

On foot from Sachsenhausen

Sachsenhausen to Deutsche Bank Park

Approximately 25-30 minute walk | | Many fans walk from the Sachsenhausen pre-match pub area to the stadium on matchdays, a pleasant route through Frankfurt's southern neighbourhoods. The walk is flat and manageable but not short - factor in at least 30 minutes plus security queue time at the gates.

Journey time: Around 25-30 minutes on foot from central Sachsenhausen.
Frequency: Walking is always available.
Cost: Free.

Tips:

  • Walking from Sachsenhausen is a good option for the pre-match approach if you have time, but use the S-Bahn or tram for the return - post-match crowds make walking back slower than expected

Pre-Match Pubs and Apfelwein Taverns

Eintracht Frankfurt fans traditionally gather in Alt-Sachsenhausen, the old quarter of Frankfurt's Sachsenhausen district about 25-30 minutes from the stadium on foot or 15 minutes by tram or S-Bahn. The area has dozens of bars and Apfelwein (apple wine) taverns. There is no designated away fan pub area in the immediate stadium vicinity - the consensus from fan forums and matchday guides is that visitors should head to Sachsenhausen rather than the stadium precinct. G-Block (Kleine Rittergasse 10), a dedicated Eintracht fan bar plastered with club memorabilia, is another option in Sachsenhausen for fans who want a sports bar setting rather than an Apfelwein tavern.

Apfelweinwirtschaft Dauth-Schneider

In Alt-Sachsenhausen, 20-25 minutes by tram or S-Bahn from stadium

Atmosphere: Traditional Apfelwein tavern, local fans, authentic

One of Frankfurt's most historic Apfelwein taverns, operating since 1850. Serves traditional Frankfurt food - liver dumplings, fried potatoes, and sausages alongside house-pressed apple wine. Popular with Eintracht fans before home matches. A genuine Frankfurt institution rather than a football pub.

Entry notes: Open to all. No match ticket required. Busy well before kickoff on matchdays - arrive early.

Apfelwein Struwwelpeter

In Alt-Sachsenhausen, a short walk from Dauth-Schneider

Atmosphere: Traditional Apfelwein tavern, local character, family-run

Family-run Apfelwein restaurant operating since 1990. Named after the famous Frankfurt children's book character. Apple wine served in traditional Bembeln pottery jugs with Geribbten ribbed glasses. One of the most popular pre-match destinations in Sachsenhausen for Eintracht fans.

Entry notes: Open daily. No match ticket required. Gets busy on matchdays from around 2-3 hours before kickoff.

Klapper 33

In Alt-Sachsenhausen (Klappergasse 33), short walk from Dauth-Schneider and Struwwelpeter

Atmosphere: Established Eintracht fan bar, rock music, local regulars

An explicitly Eintracht-identified fan bar in the heart of Sachsenhausen operating since 1973. Decorated with old signs and labels, with rock music and a no-frills dive bar atmosphere. After home wins, Alt-Sachsenhausen fills quickly and Klapper 33 is one of the main post-match stops for fans who know the area. Foreign fan songs and rival colours are not welcome here.

Entry notes: Open evenings (from 7pm, later on Fridays and Saturdays). Adults only. Committed Eintracht venue - rival supporters should avoid.

Sternche

Near Frankfurt Sudbahnhof (South Station), 15-20 minutes from stadium

Atmosphere: Small local beer bar, fan gathering point, standing bar

A small, informal beer bar near Sudbahnhof that is a traditional fan meeting point before trams depart to the stadium. Low-key local atmosphere rather than a restaurant setting - primarily a standing pre-match drink stop that fills quickly before kickoff. Several independent matchday accounts mention this as the Sudbahnhof gather point.

Entry notes: Open to all. Compact space - gets very crowded in the final hour before kickoff.

💡

Pre-Match Strategy

  • Head to Alt-Sachsenhausen rather than the immediate stadium area for the best pre-match atmosphere. The Apfelwein taverns are an authentic part of Frankfurt culture and worth the extra travel time
  • Apfelwein (Ebbelwoi) is the local drink - served in Bembeln stoneware jugs in traditional ribb glasses. It is a refreshing alternative to beer and genuinely part of the Frankfurt matchday tradition
  • Allow at least 30 minutes to get from Sachsenhausen to the stadium, including the walk from the Stadion S-Bahn stop to the gates. Factor in security queues for bigger fixtures
  • Your match ticket covers the tram or S-Bahn from Sachsenhausen to the stadium at no extra cost via the RMV KombiTicket

Matchday Traditions and Atmosphere

Pre-Match Build-Up

Most fans spend the pre-match period in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt, about 20-25 minutes from the stadium by tram or S-Bahn. Alt-Sachsenhausen is the traditional gathering area, a compact neighbourhood of narrow lanes lined with Apfelwein (apple wine) taverns. Struwwelpeter, Dauth-Schneider, and Klapper 33 are the most consistently recommended fan gathering points, all in the heart of Sachsenhausen and busy on matchdays from early afternoon. The local Apfelwein is served in traditional Bembeln (stoneware jugs) and is as much a part of Frankfurt matchday culture as any chant or flag. Before kickoff, the stadium plays "Im Herzen von Europa" (In the Heart of Europe), an anthem performed by the Frankfurt Police Choir that has opened every home match since 1997 - sung along to by large parts of the crowd, it is one of the more distinctive pre-match rituals in the Bundesliga.

Inside Deutsche Bank Park

The Nordwestkurve is the home of Eintracht's ultras and the loudest section of Deutsche Bank Park. It holds approximately 19,900 standing places, making it the second-largest standing terrace in the Bundesliga. The Ultras Frankfurt 1997 (UF97) group lead the choreography and are one of Germany's most active ultra groups, known for elaborate tifos and coordinated vocal support throughout the match. Before the players come out, Attila - the club's live golden eagle mascot - is released to fly circuits above the pitch from his handler's arm, a tradition that has been part of every home match since 2005. On European nights, the entire stadium generates significant noise - the retractable roof can be fully closed in around 15 minutes, sealing in the sound. Beer is sold inside the stadium, which is standard at German grounds unlike in the UK.

Post-Match

After the final whistle, fans return to Sachsenhausen for Apfelwein and food, or head back to the Hauptbahnhof area. The S-Bahn back to the city centre runs frequently and match tickets remain valid for the return journey until services end. Alt-Sachsenhausen fills quickly after a win - Dauth-Schneider, Struwwelpeter, and Klapper 33 are the main post-match destinations for a longer evening.

💡

Visitor Tips

  • Your match ticket covers all RMV public transport on matchday including the S-Bahn from the airport, trams, and city buses - no separate ticket needed
  • Arrive at Deutsche Bank Park at least 30-45 minutes before kickoff. The S-Bahn deposits fans at the Stadion stop, which is a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium gates
  • The Nordwestkurve is standing-only and ultra territory. First-time visitors who want a seat with a good atmosphere will find the Gegengerade (opposite stand) a good option
  • Try the Apfelwein in Sachsenhausen before the match - it is genuinely local, served in traditional pottery, and central to Frankfurt's food and drink culture
