The biggest barrier for international visitors is the Passo Taraftar system, a mandatory fan identification card required to buy and use any match ticket in Turkey. Without a Passo Taraftar card, you cannot enter the stadium. The ground is in the Kadikoy district on the Asian side of Istanbul, a different part of the city from Galatasaray and Besiktas on the European side.
The Passo Taraftar card (this is your first step):
- • Every person entering a Super Lig stadium in Turkey needs a Passo Taraftar card linked to their identity. No exceptions, no workarounds
- • International visitors can apply online at passo.com.tr (available in English). You will need your passport details, a phone number, and a passport photo
- • For foreign nationals, the Passo Taraftar Wallet Prepaid Card is the only option. You can collect your physical card at the stadium ticket offices on matchday
- • The Passo app allows digital entry even before your physical card arrives, provided your account is active and your ticket is linked
- • Apply well in advance of your trip. Processing can take several days, and you cannot buy tickets until the card is active
Quick reality check for visitors:
- • Galatasaray (the Intercontinental Derby), Besiktas, and European knockout matches: Extremely high demand. Tickets sell out during member presale. Hospitality or verified marketplaces are your realistic options
- • Mid-table Super Lig fixtures: Good availability once general sale opens, especially with an active Passo Taraftar card. The 47,000 capacity helps
- • Cup matches and early European group stage: Reasonable availability at face value
- • Tickets typically go on sale three to five days before a match, with pricing varying by fixture, seating area, and opponent
Fenerbahce's ticketing system:
- • All tickets are sold through the official Passo platform at passo.com.tr. You must have an active Passo Taraftar card linked to your account before purchasing
- • Season ticket holders (Kombineler) have automatic access to every home match and take up a large portion of the stadium's capacity
- • Fenerbahce members receive priority access windows before tickets go on general sale. The most committed members get earliest access
- • General sale opens for remaining tickets after member windows close. For a mid-table league match, this is your realistic window
Important for international visitors:
- • The passo.com.tr website is available in English and accepts international credit cards
- • Your passport is required at the stadium gate alongside your Passo Taraftar card. Bring it to every match
- • E-tickets via the Passo app are standard. Have your app, QR code, and passport ready at the turnstile
- • If your physical Passo Taraftar card has not arrived by matchday, you can enter with the mobile app or obtain a Single Entrance Pass from the stadium counters
Fenerbahce Ticket Strategy
- Start the Passo Taraftar application process as soon as you know your travel dates. It is a hard requirement, not optional
- For the Intercontinental Derby (vs Galatasaray) and European knockout matches, official tickets rarely reach general sale. Look at hospitality or marketplaces
- Get the geography right when picking a seat. The ground has four stands: Maraton and Fenerium run down the two sides, while Migros and Telsim sit behind the goals. The Maraton side is the ultras' home, dominated by Genc Fenerbahceliler (GFB), and is the most intense place to stand. The Fenerium side opposite, which contains the premium 1907 zone, gives better views with a seat
- Fenerbahce's stadium is on the Asian side of Istanbul. If you are also attending a Galatasaray or Besiktas match, plan for different parts of the city entirely

Getting to Chobani Stadium
Chobani Stadium is in the Kadikoy district on Istanbul's Asian side. Unlike Galatasaray's RAMS Park (which has a dedicated metro station), Fenerbahce's ground is best reached by walking from Kadikoy centre, by ferry from the European side, or via the Marmaray metro tunnel. On matchdays, roads around the stadium are closed to traffic, making walking the most reliable option for the final approach.

Ferries run frequently and accept the Istanbulkart. From the Kadikoy pier, walk through the market area and residential streets toward the stadium. Follow the yellow-and-blue crowds on matchdays.
Journey time: Around 20 minutes by ferry from Eminonu or Besiktas to Kadikoy, plus 20-30 minutes walking from the pier to the stadium.

Interchange station on the Asian side, then walk or connect to local transport toward the stadium | Marmaray (cross-Bosphorus metro), M4 Metro (Kadikoy - Sabiha Gokcen) | Ayrilik Cesmesi is the main interchange on the Asian side where the Marmaray crosses under the Bosphorus. You can transfer to the M4 metro here, or walk toward the stadium (approximately 25-30 minutes on foot). On matchdays, many fans walk from this station.
Journey time: Around 10 minutes from Sirkeci (Old City/Sultanahmet area) to Ayrilik Cesmesi via Marmaray. Then 25-30 minutes walking to the stadium or a short dolmus ride.
Frequency: Marmaray trains run every 5-10 minutes during peak hours.

- The Marmaray is the fastest way to cross from the European side to the Asian side. From Yenikapi or Sirkeci, you are under the Bosphorus in minutes

The area around the stadium and Kadikoy harbour has kebab shops, Efes bars, and tea houses that fill with yellow-and-blue scarves on matchdays. Kadikoy also has Kadife Sokak (Bar Street), one of Istanbul's best nightlife strips. Do NOT head to Nevizade Street or Beyoglu for pre-match drinks before a Fenerbahce game - that is Galatasaray territory.

A row of kebab shops and Efes bars flying yellow and blue flags opposite the Fenerium club shop. Includes Fener Bufe, Stad Bufe, Gorkem, and Kose Burger. Simple places with cold beer, kebabs, and strong matchday energy. This strip is where the pre-match crowd gathers closest to the ground.
Entry notes: Open to all. These are casual, no-frills spots rather than formal bars. The atmosphere on matchdays makes up for the simplicity.
Kadife Sokak (Bar Street)

Atmosphere: Alternative bars, Live music, Bohemian
Known locally as Barlar Sokagi (Bar Street), this narrow Kadikoy road is lined with small bars, live music venues, and alternative cafes. It is the heart of Kadikoy's nightlife and has a more bohemian feel than the tourist districts across the water. Good for pre-match drinks if you are arriving via Kadikoy centre, and a natural post-match destination.
Entry notes: Open to all. The street has a mixed crowd of locals, students, and visitors. Not specifically a football bar but well-placed for the matchday route. Worth visiting in its own right.
Kadikoy Harbour Area

The cafes and tea houses around Kadikoy harbour are where many fans arriving by ferry start their matchday. Grab a cay (tea) or an Efes and join the growing crowd heading toward the ground. The Kadikoy fish market area nearby has excellent cheap seafood if you want a proper meal before the match.
Entry notes: Not a single venue but a collection of waterfront spots. The atmosphere builds as more fans arrive by ferry on matchdays. A good place to soak up the pre-match energy before the walk to the ground.
Pre-Match Strategy
- The Recep Peker Caddesi strip near the stadium is the most authentic Fenerbahce pre-match experience. Simple bars, kebabs, and a wall of yellow and blue
- Do NOT go to Nevizade Street or Beyoglu before a Fenerbahce match. That is Galatasaray territory and wearing Fenerbahce colours there is not advisable
- Kadikoy's bar scene (especially Kadife Sokak) is worth exploring in its own right. The area has a more alternative, local feel than the tourist-heavy European side
- Turkish tea (cay) is free or very cheap at many matchday gathering spots. It is a core part of the pre-match ritual alongside beer
Matchday Traditions & Atmosphere
Pre-Match Build-Up
Chobani Stadium is in the Kadikoy district on Istanbul's Asian side, roughly 20-25 minutes by ferry from the European side tourist centres. Fenerbahce fans gather in the streets around Kadikoy harbour and the market area hours before kickoff. The walk from Kadikoy centre to the stadium takes around 20-30 minutes, passing through residential streets that fill with yellow and blue scarves, flags, and street vendors selling simit (sesame bread rings) and roasted chestnuts. Opposite the Fenerium club shop on Recep Peker Caddesi, a row of kebab shops and Efes beer bars fly yellow and blue flags and fill up early on matchdays.
Inside Chobani Stadium
Genc Fenerbahceliler (GFB), founded in 1998, are Fenerbahce's main ultra group and occupy sections behind the goals. They produce non-stop chanting, giant flags, coordinated tifos, and flares throughout every match. Vamos Bien is a smaller, alternative supporters group known for their egalitarian ethos. The atmosphere at Chobani Stadium for big European nights and derbies is among the most intense in Turkish football. The ground's compact, steep stands amplify the noise. First-time visitors on the Fenerium side, which houses the 1907 zone, get good atmosphere without being in the thick of the ultras on the Maraton side.
The Intercontinental Derby (vs Galatasaray)
The rivalry between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray is one of football's most intense, rooted in the historic divide between the Asian and European sides of Istanbul. Known as the Intercontinental Derby (Kitalar Arasi Derbi), it regularly ranks among the fiercest club rivalries in the world. The Besiktas derby is also fiercely contested. Matches against both rivals carry enormous stakes for the league title, city bragging rights, and national attention. Tickets for these fixtures almost never reach general sale.
Post-Match
After the final whistle, fans stream back toward Kadikoy centre. The walk can be slow as thousands funnel through the residential streets. Many supporters head to the bars on Kadife Sokak (known locally as Barlar Sokagi, or Bar Street), a narrow road lined with small bars and live music venues in the heart of Kadikoy. Others head to the waterfront for a late ferry back to the European side. Kadikoy's nightlife runs late and the area has a more alternative, bohemian feel than the tourist districts across the water.
Visitor Tips
- Arrive at least 60-90 minutes before kickoff. Security checks at the gates take time and the approaches get crowded
- Do not wear Galatasaray or Besiktas colours anywhere near the stadium or in Kadikoy on matchday. Rivalries in Turkish football are taken very seriously
- The Maraton Tribune is the most intense section, dominated by GFB ultras. It is one of the two side stands, not an end - Migros and Telsim are the stands behind the goals. The Fenerium side, including the 1907 zone, is better for first-time visitors who want atmosphere with a seat
- Kadikoy is on the Asian side of Istanbul. If you are staying on the European side (Sultanahmet, Taksim, Beyoglu), allow at least 45 minutes to reach the stadium area by ferry or Marmaray
