Getting to Chobani Stadium

Journey time: Around 20 minutes by ferry from Eminonu or Besiktas to Kadikoy, plus 20-30 minutes walking from the pier to the stadium.

Marmaray + Walk (Fastest from European Side) (Marmaray Metro)
• Ayrilik Cesmesi
Interchange station on the Asian side, then walk or connect to local transport toward the stadium | Marmaray (cross-Bosphorus metro), M4 Metro (Kadikoy - Sabiha Gokcen) | Ayrilik Cesmesi is the main interchange on the Asian side where the Marmaray crosses under the Bosphorus. You can transfer to the M4 metro here, or walk toward the stadium (approximately 25-30 minutes on foot). On matchdays, many fans walk from this station.
Journey time: Around 10 minutes from Sirkeci (Old City/Sultanahmet area) to Ayrilik Cesmesi via Marmaray. Then 25-30 minutes walking to the stadium or a short dolmus ride.

Fenerbahce fans gather in the streets around Kadikoy harbour and the market area hours before kickoff. The walk from Kadikoy centre to the stadium takes around 20-30 minutes, passing through residential streets that fill with yellow and blue scarves, flags, and street vendors selling simit (sesame bread rings) and roasted chestnuts. Opposite the Fenerium club shop on Recep Peker Caddesi, a row of kebab shops and Efes beer bars fly yellow and blue flags and fill up early on matchdays.
Inside Chobani Stadium
Genc Fenerbahceliler (GFB), founded in 1998, are Fenerbahce's main ultra group and occupy sections behind the goals. They produce non-stop chanting, giant flags, coordinated tifos, and flares throughout every match. Vamos Bien is a smaller, alternative supporters group known for their egalitarian ethos. The atmosphere at Chobani Stadium for big European nights and derbies is among the most intense in Turkish football. The ground's compact, steep stands amplify the noise. First-time visitors in the Fenerium Tribune or 1907 Tribune (the sides) get good atmosphere without being in the thick of the ultra sections.
The Intercontinental Derby (vs Galatasaray)
The rivalry between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray is one of football's most intense, rooted in the historic divide between the Asian and European sides of Istanbul. Known as the Intercontinental Derby (Kitalar Arasi Derbi), it regularly ranks among the fiercest club rivalries in the world. The Besiktas derby is also fiercely contested. Matches against both rivals carry enormous stakes for the league title, city bragging rights, and national attention. Tickets for these fixtures almost never reach general sale.
Post-Match
After the final whistle, fans stream back toward Kadikoy centre. The walk can be slow as thousands funnel through the residential streets. Many supporters head to the bars on Kadife Sokak (known locally as Barlar Sokagi, or Bar Street), a narrow road lined with small bars and live music venues in the heart of Kadikoy. Others head to the waterfront for a late ferry back to the European side. Kadikoy's nightlife runs late and the area has a more alternative, bohemian feel than the tourist districts across the water.
Visitor Tips
- Arrive at least 60-90 minutes before kickoff. Security checks at the gates take time and the approaches get crowded
- Do not wear Galatasaray or Besiktas colours anywhere near the stadium or in Kadikoy on matchday. Rivalries in Turkish football are taken very seriously
- The Maraton Tribune (behind the goal) is the most intense section, dominated by GFB ultras. The Fenerium Tribune or 1907 Tribune are better for first-time visitors who want atmosphere with a seat
- Kadikoy is on the Asian side of Istanbul. If you are staying on the European side (Sultanahmet, Taksim, Beyoglu), allow at least 45 minutes to reach the stadium area by ferry or Marmaray

Fenerbahce's stadium is in Kadikoy, a lively district on Istanbul's Asian side with its own food and bar culture. Entry notes: Gets very busy on matchdays. Arrive early to find space. A natural first stop if you are heading straight to the stadium area.
Recep Peker Caddesi Bars
Opposite the Fenerium club shop, near the stadium
Atmosphere: Street bars, Kebab shops, Yellow-and-blue atmosphere
A row of kebab shops and Efes bars flying yellow and blue flags opposite the Fenerium club shop. Includes Fener Bufe, Stad Bufe, Gorkem, and Kose Burger. Simple places with cold beer, kebabs, and strong matchday energy. This strip is where the pre-match crowd gathers closest to the ground.
Entry notes: Open to all. These are casual, no-frills spots rather than formal bars. The atmosphere on matchdays makes up for the simplicity.
Kadife Sokak (Bar Street)
Kadikoy centre, 20-minute walk from stadium
Atmosphere: Alternative bars, Live music, Bohemian
Known locally as Barlar Sokagi (Bar Street), this narrow Kadikoy road is lined with small bars, live music venues, and alternative cafes. It is the heart of Kadikoy's nightlife and has a more bohemian feel than the tourist districts across the water. Good for pre-match drinks if you are arriving via Kadikoy centre, and a natural post-match destination.
Entry notes: Open to all. The street has a mixed crowd of locals, students, and visitors. Not specifically a football bar but well-placed for the matchday route. Worth visiting in its own right.
Kadikoy Harbour Area

Atmosphere: Cafes, Tea houses, Ferry terminal buzz
The cafes and tea houses around Kadikoy harbour are where many fans arriving by ferry start their matchday. Grab a cay (tea) or an Efes and join the growing crowd heading toward the ground. The Kadikoy fish market area nearby has excellent cheap seafood if you want a proper meal before the match.
Entry notes: Not a single venue but a collection of waterfront spots. The atmosphere builds as more fans arrive by ferry on matchdays. A good place to soak up the pre-match energy before the walk to the ground.
Pre-Match Strategy
- The Recep Peker Caddesi strip near the stadium is the most authentic Fenerbahce pre-match experience. Simple bars, kebabs, and a wall of yellow and blue
- Do NOT go to Nevizade Street or Beyoglu before a Fenerbahce match. That is Galatasaray territory and wearing Fenerbahce colours there is not advisable
- Kadikoy's bar scene (especially Kadife Sokak) is worth exploring in its own right. The area has a more alternative, local feel than the tourist-heavy European side
