Genoa CFC Tickets & Matchday Guide
Stadio Luigi Ferraris • Genoa2025/26 Season
How to Buy Genoa CFC Tickets
We cover every path into the stadium: official club channels, officially authorized hospitality partners, and vetted resellers. Each evaluated honestly with realistic expectations so you know exactly what to expect.
Official Genoa CFC Tickets
Stadio Luigi Ferraris holds around 33,000 fans in Genoa's Marassi district. Genoa CFC is not a sell-out machine for most Serie A matches, which is genuinely good news for visiting fans - but the DNA Genoa fidelity card adds an extra step to the official purchase process.
Quick reality check for visitors:
- • Derby della Lanterna (vs Sampdoria, when in Serie A) and top Serie A fixtures vs Milan, Inter, Juventus: High demand, sell out quickly. Hospitality or verified marketplaces are your best option
- • Mid-table Serie A: Accessible through official channels with a DNA Genoa card. The 33,000 capacity and Genoa's mid-tier fanbase size makes most fixtures manageable
- • Coppa Italia and lower-demand Serie A: Your best shot at face-value tickets with reasonable lead time
- • Genoa returned to Serie A in 2023 after years in lower divisions. Enthusiasm is high but supply usually meets demand for regular fixtures
Genoa's ticketing system (Vivaticket):
- • Tickets are sold through Vivaticket, which is the official platform for Genoa CFC (confirmed via the official corporate Vivaticket announcement). Access via genoacfc.it or directly on vivaticket.com
- • The DNA Genoa fidelity card is required for priority access to tickets and the season ticket programme. The card is available at a low fee via the club website and is valid for five years
- • The card can be purchased online through the official Genoa site or in person at the ticket office at Marassi stadium and the club's Porto Antico outlet
- • Season ticket holders (Abbonati) have reserved seats for all home league matches. Remaining tickets go on general sale to DNA Genoa cardholders
How the ticket sale process works:
- • Season ticket holders have automatic access to their seat for every home match
- • DNA Genoa cardholders can purchase remaining tickets once general sale opens, typically around a week before the match
- • Tickets are personalized in Italy - your name is printed on the ticket and ID may be checked at the gate. This is standard across Serie A
- • Residents of the Liguria region wishing to purchase away-section tickets must be DNA Genoa members - a quirk worth knowing if you are staying locally
Important for international visitors:
- • Obtaining a DNA Genoa card online and allowing shipping time is the recommended route for regular ticket purchase. Apply via genoacfc.it in advance of your trip
- • A valid passport or ID is standard for the application and will be required at the gate
- • The Vivaticket platform supports online purchases with international delivery or electronic ticket options
- • For sold-out or high-demand fixtures, verified marketplaces (LiveFootballTickets, HelloTickets) are the practical alternative without needing a fidelity card
Genoa Ticket Strategy
- For most Serie A matches, a DNA Genoa card and a few days' lead time is enough to buy through general sale on Vivaticket. The capacity and fanbase size work in visitors' favour compared to the bigger Serie A clubs
- For the Derby della Lanterna (when Sampdoria are in Serie A), invest in hospitality or verified marketplaces. This is the hardest ticket in Genoa and sells out fast regardless of form
- The Gradinata Nord is the ultras' end and produces the best atmosphere. For a first visit, the Distinti Superiori (upper side stands) offer good views and are more accessible for general sale
Genoa CFC Official Hospitality & Packages

View Packages →When to Choose Hospitality
- The Gold hospitality package is the most straightforward option for Derby della Lanterna when Sampdoria are in Serie A - the VIP stand position also helps avoid the most intense sections on derby day
- Silver packages are worth considering for top Serie A opponents when official tickets are moving fast
- Contact the club early for big fixtures - hospitality inventory at the 33,000-capacity Ferraris is limited

Pre-Match Bars for Genoa CFC Matches
The pre-match scene for Genoa CFC centres on the streets immediately around Stadio Luigi Ferraris in the Marassi district. Note: both Genoa and Sampdoria use this stadium. Sampdoria's Gradinata Sud is at the opposite end - the pubs listed below are in Genoa fan territory. On derby day, the police impose strict separation between fan groups and pub recommendations may change - check official club communications.
Roxy Bar
Stone's throw from Stadio Luigi Ferraris
Atmosphere: Ultra pub, Genoa heartland, Lively
The primary gathering point for Genoa ultras and fans before home matches. Supporters spill onto the Scalinata Montaldo steps outside for spritz and beer before the walk to the ground. Confirmed active with recent reviews from 2025. This is the real pre-match Genoa experience, not a tourist bar.
Entry notes: Open to all Genoa fans. Gets very busy 60-90 minutes before kickoff. Not a tourist-oriented bar - dress appropriately and respect the fan culture. Avoid wearing rival colours in this area.
Bar dello Stadio
Near Stadio Luigi Ferraris, Marassi
Atmosphere: Stadium-adjacent fan bar, Pre-match crowd
A fan bar in the Marassi neighbourhood immediately adjacent to the stadium. Active on Instagram as @bardellostadio_ge and confirmed as a gathering point for supporters before home matches. Serves drinks and food to fans heading to the ground.
Entry notes: Open before home matches. Close to the stadium gates - good option if you want to be near the ground from early.
Bar Sport
5-minute walk from Stadio Luigi Ferraris, Marassi
Atmosphere: Traditional Italian bar, Live football screens, Local crowd
A Marassi neighbourhood institution with a good selection of draught beers and live football on multiple screens. Regularly packed with fans before matches. A solid option if Roxy Bar is too crowded or if you want a slightly more relaxed pre-match stop with food.
Entry notes: Open to all fans. Good screens for pre-match viewing of other fixtures. A short walk from the stadium.
Pre-Match Strategy
- Roxy Bar and the Scalinata Montaldo steps outside are the heart of Genoa's pre-match scene. Arrive 60-90 minutes before kickoff to get a spot
- The Marassi area is compact - bars, food vendors, and the stadium are all within a short walk of each other
- On derby day (when Sampdoria are in Serie A), security cordons the area heavily and fan separation is strict. Check official club communications before planning pub stops on derby matchdays
Matchday Traditions and Atmosphere
Pre-Match Build-Up
Fans gather in the streets around Stadio Luigi Ferraris in the Marassi district well before kickoff. The Roxy Bar close to the stadium is the main ultra gathering point, described consistently as the heartbeat of the pre-match scene - fans spill onto the Scalinata Montaldo steps nearby for spritz and beers before the short walk to the ground. The area around the ground fills with food vendors, scarf sellers, and rossoblu colours as kickoff approaches.
Inside Stadio Luigi Ferraris
The Gradinata Nord is home to Genoa's ultras and the loudest section of the ground. The stadium's two Gradinate - the terraced ends behind each goal - resemble English-style ends rather than the curved Italian Curva, giving Luigi Ferraris a distinctive character among Italian grounds. The Fossa dei Grifoni, formed in 1973 and dissolved in 1993, pioneered organised fan culture at the Ferraris and is regarded as one of Italy's legendary ultra groups. Today's Gradinata Nord continues that tradition with flags, drums, and coordinated choreography. The rest of the ground joins in for derbies and top fixtures.
Derby della Lanterna (vs Sampdoria)
The Derby della Lanterna is named after Genova's iconic lighthouse - the Lanterna - one of the oldest lighthouses in the world. The derby was first played in 1946 and is one of Italy's most intense city derbies. Sampdoria were in Serie B as of the 2025-26 season, so the fixture does not occur every year. When it does, both the Gradinata Nord and the Gradinata Sud produce their most elaborate tifos and pyrotechnic displays of the season. Security is significantly tighter on derby day - check club communications on timing and access for visiting supporters.
Post-Match
After the final whistle, crowds head back toward Brignole station along Corso Gallieri following the Bisagno river. The city centre around Piazza de Ferrari and the old town Caruggi district offers restaurants, bars, and nightlife within 20-30 minutes of the ground. Genova's old town is UNESCO World Heritage listed and worth exploring after a match.
Visitor Tips
- Arrive at least 45-60 minutes early for big matches. Gate queues and security at Luigi Ferraris can be slow
- The Gradinata Nord has the best atmosphere but is ultra territory. The Distinti Superiori (upper side stands) offer good views for first-time visitors
- Derby della Lanterna tickets are the hardest to get and security is significantly higher than regular matches. Plan well in advance if Sampdoria are back in Serie A
Museo del Genoa and Stadio Luigi Ferraris
Genoa CFC's official museum (Museo del Genoa) is at the Porto Antico waterfront, not inside the stadium. It is the primary way to engage with the club's history away from a matchday. Stadio Luigi Ferraris itself, built in 1911, is one of the oldest stadiums in Italy and has a rich history as the venue for the 1934 World Cup and 1960 Olympic football.
