Official Olympique de Marseille Tickets

Face Value

The CEPAC Velodrome holds around 67,000 fans, making it the largest club stadium in France. Olympique de Marseille are consistently one of the best-supported clubs in Europe, and the passionate fanbase means high-demand matches sell out. The good news: OM's large capacity means many Ligue 1 fixtures reach general sale.

Quick reality check for visitors:
  • Le Classique (vs PSG), Lyon (Olympico), and Champions League knockout matches: Extremely high demand. Members get priority. Hospitality or verified marketplaces are your realistic options
  • Mid-table Ligue 1: Available through general sale with a free account on billetterie.om.fr. The 67,000 capacity helps significantly
  • Cup competitions and early Champions League group stage: Good availability at face value through official channels
  • OM's fanbase is among the most passionate in Europe, and the CEPAC Velodrome consistently records some of the highest attendances on the continent
OM's ticketing system:
  • Tickets are sold through the official OM ticketing site at billetterie.om.fr. Create a free account to access general sale
  • The 'Peuple Bleu et Blanc' membership programme gives priority access, with Gold and Platinum members getting the earliest (Level 1) priority window and Essential members the next (Level 2)
  • Non-members can purchase tickets for most Ligue 1 fixtures once general sale opens, typically several days before the match
How the ticket sale process works:
  • Season ticket holders (abonnes) have automatic access to every home match
  • Gold and Platinum members receive the earliest (Level 1) priority window
  • Essential members get the next (Level 2) priority window
  • General sale opens after member windows close, for matches with remaining capacity
  • For Le Classique and Champions League knockouts, tickets rarely reach general sale. Membership or alternative routes are essential
Important for international visitors:
  • The official ticketing site at billetterie.om.fr is available in English and accepts international credit cards
  • E-tickets and mobile tickets are standard. Have your confirmation ready on your phone
  • A valid ID (passport for international visitors) may be required at the stadium gate for certain matches
💡

OM Ticket Strategy

  • For most Ligue 1 matches, a free account on billetterie.om.fr is enough to buy tickets during general sale. The 67,000 capacity means good availability for routine fixtures
  • For Le Classique (vs PSG), Lyon, and Champions League matches, look at hospitality or verified marketplaces. These regularly sell out before general sale opens
  • The Virage Sud (South Stand) is the home of the ultras and produces the best atmosphere, but tickets for this section are dominated by supporter group members. The Tribune Ganay or Tribune Jean Bouin offer the best views for first-time visitors

  • La Table des Legendes offers the most premium dining experience, a panoramic gastronomic buffet alongside former OM players

Olympique de Marseille Ticket Marketplaces

Most Available

Secondary market platforms with availability when official channels sell out. For OM the order matters: the club runs its own official resale platform, which opens for each fixture once there are no seats left on the main ticketing site, and OM describe it as the only route to valid secured tickets at that point. Try it before anything else here.

Ticket resale platforms operate independently of Olympique de Marseille and Matchday Guide. Clubs reserve the right to refuse entry for unauthorized tickets, so any resale purchase is at your own risk.

Marseille Hotel Strategy for OM Matches

  • The Vieux-Port is the most atmospheric base, with waterfront restaurants, bars, and the iconic harbour. Metro to the stadium takes about 15-20 minutes
  • The Prado district near the stadium is convenient for matchdays and close to Marseille's beaches, but has less nightlife than the Vieux-Port
  • Book early for Le Classique (vs PSG) and Champions League nights. Marseille hotels fill up around major fixtures and during the summer tourist season (June to September)

Getting to the CEPAC Velodrome

The CEPAC Velodrome is well-served by Marseille's metro system, with the Rond-Point du Prado station on Line 2 being the primary access point. The Sainte-Marguerite Dromel station (also Line 2, one stop further) serves the south side of the stadium. Metro services run with increased frequency on matchdays.

Pre-Match Bars for Olympique de Marseille Matches

Marseille's pre-match scene centres on the Vieux-Port, where OM fans gather at waterfront bars hours before kickoff. There are also options closer to the stadium in the Prado district.

Serves food daily with a real pub atmosphere. A natural pre-match stop for fans who want to stay near the stadium rather than commuting from the Vieux-Port.

Entry notes: Open to all. A good option if you want to avoid the metro rush by staying near the stadium. The proximity to the Velodrome makes it ideal for a pre-match drink and walk to the ground.

Rookie's Sports Bar

Near Vieux-Port (Cours Estienne d'Orves area), 20-minute metro ride to stadium

Atmosphere: Sports bar, 26+ screens, Festive matchday atmosphere

A dedicated sports bar between the Vieux-Port and Cours Estienne d'Orves with 26 screens and a large main screen. Draws a lively crowd on OM matchdays with a festive, energetic atmosphere. Good beer selection and bar food. The Cours Estienne d'Orves area is one of Marseille's liveliest squares for nightlife.

Entry notes: Open to all. Gets packed on big matchday evenings. The surrounding Cours Estienne d'Orves area has plenty of overflow options if it's too crowded.

💡

Pre-Match Strategy

  • The Brasserie OM Cafe is the most iconic pre-match spot, right on the Vieux-Port with OM branding everywhere. Arrive early for a terrace seat
  • O'Brady's in the Prado district is the best near-stadium option. Walk to the match after your drink without needing the metro
  • The classic Marseille matchday routine: drinks and seafood at the Vieux-Port, then Metro Line 2 to Rond-Point du Prado. The whole journey takes about 20 minutes

Matchday Traditions & Atmosphere

Pre-Match Build-Up

Marseille's matchday starts hours before kickoff around the Vieux-Port, where fans fill the terraces of waterfront bars and restaurants. The Brasserie OM Cafe on the Quai des Belges is a natural gathering point, draped in OM colours with matches on the screens. As kickoff approaches, fans stream south on Metro Line 2 toward the Rond-Point du Prado station. The walk from the metro to the stadium takes about 10 minutes, with vendors selling scarves, flags, and merguez sausages along Boulevard Michelet. The noise builds steadily as you approach the ground.

Inside the CEPAC Velodrome

The Virage Sud (South Stand) is the beating heart of the CEPAC Velodrome, home to the Commando Ultra '84 (founded in 1984, the first ultra group in France) and the South Winners. Between them, they produce non-stop chanting, giant tifos, coordinated flag displays, and pyrotechnic shows throughout the match. The Virage Nord houses additional supporter groups. When the entire stadium joins in with 'Aux Armes' or 'Jump,' 67,000 voices in unison create one of the most distinctive soundscapes in European football. The steep bowl design of the renovated Velodrome amplifies the noise and keeps the atmosphere contained.

Le Classique (vs PSG)

The rivalry between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain is the defining fixture of French football, known as Le Classique. It represents a cultural divide between the working-class port city and the capital. OM are the only French club to have won the Champions League (1993), a point of deep pride. Every meeting carries enormous weight, and the atmosphere at the Velodrome for Le Classique is the most intense of the season. The Olympico derby against Lyon is another fierce rivalry with a long history. Tickets for both fixtures almost never reach general sale.

Post-Match

After the final whistle, fans stream back toward the Rond-Point du Prado metro station, which can be congested for 20-30 minutes as tens of thousands of fans disperse. Metro services run with increased frequency on matchdays to handle the crowds. Many supporters head back to the Vieux-Port area for dinner and drinks, with the Cours Estienne d'Orves (a lively square just off the port) and the waterfront restaurants along the Quai du Port popular post-match destinations. Marseille's Mediterranean climate means outdoor terraces are busy well into the evening.

💡

Visitor Tips

  • Arrive at least 60-90 minutes early for big matches. The metro station gets very busy before kickoff, and there is plenty to see around the stadium approaches
  • The Virage Sud (ultras) offers the most intense atmosphere but is dominated by supporter group members. The Tribune Ganay and Tribune Jean Bouin offer the best views with good atmosphere for first-time visitors
  • Marseille is a major Mediterranean city with a lively nightlife scene. The Vieux-Port and Cours Julien areas are the best post-match destinations
