PSV's Heldenlied (Heroes' Song) is played as the team enters the field before every home match. At exactly the 19th minute and 13th second of every match - the 19:13 mark, referencing the club's founding year - the song is played again and the stadium erupts. This tradition is unique to PSV and gives the match a distinct recurring moment. Visitors who are not expecting it are invariably caught off guard.

PSV's fanbase identifies as 'boeren' - Dutch for farmers or peasants - taking deliberate pride in Eindhoven's provincial character compared to the Randstad cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The distance from the stands to the pitch is shorter than most comparable European venues. The east stand lower terrace is the most vocal section. The Supportersvereniging PSV, with 14,000 members, has its own Supportershome on the north side of the stadium, open before and after every home match. On Champions League nights, the atmosphere is among the best in the Netherlands.
