Matchday Traditions & Atmosphere
Pre-Match Build-Up
epet ARENA sits on the Letna plateau in Prague 7, a short walk across the river from the Old Town. Fans arrive by tram to the Sparta stop right outside the ground or walk up through Letna park, where the seasonal beer garden and its views over the city are a popular gathering point in the warmer months. Around the stadium you will find scarf and merchandise stands and food stalls, including the well-known Mr Hot Dog next to the ground, which fills up in the couple of hours before kickoff.
Inside epet ARENA
The home end, known as the Kotel (the cauldron), sits behind one goal and drives the singing, tifos and pyro throughout the match. The compact bowl of just over 18,000 makes the noise feel close and constant, and the ultras are in place from before the warm-ups. Leadership of the home end passed to a new group, Ultras Sparta, in 2025, and the transition has been contested among ordinary fans. For a first visit, the lower tier behind the opposite goal gives the best view of the Kotel's displays.
The Prague Derby (vs Slavia)
Sparta versus Slavia is the defining fixture of Czech football and one of the oldest derbies in Europe. The two clubs sit at opposite ends of the city, Sparta on Letna in Prague 7 and Slavia at Eden in Vrsovice, and the rivalry runs deep. Expect elaborate choreography, a hostile atmosphere and near-impossible tickets. If you are attending the derby, keep to Sparta and neutral central areas and avoid wearing colours near Slavia's Vrsovice and Eden districts.
Post-Match
After the final whistle most fans head back down toward the river or into Holesovice and Letna for a drink, or take the tram and metro back into the centre. The stadium's central location means you are only a short ride or a 20 to 25 minute walk from the Old Town, so post-match options are plentiful.

- Arrive 45 to 60 minutes early for league games and earlier for the derby. The Sparta tram stop and surrounding streets get busy close to kickoff
- For the best view of the Kotel's tifos and pyro, sit in the lower tier behind the opposite goal
