Official Chelsea Tickets

Face Value

For 2026-27 Chelsea has overhauled how home tickets are sold. The old timed online queue is gone. Members now apply within a set window and successful buyers are drawn at random by an automated third-party process, so there is no advantage to logging on the second sales open. Here is how the new system works and what is realistic for a visiting fan.

How the 2026-27 application ballot works:
  • The timed online queue has been replaced by an application window. Members apply during a set period and successful buyers are selected at random through an automated third-party process for fairness
  • Because selection is random within the window, there is no benefit to applying the instant it opens - apply any time before the window closes
  • Ticketmaster is now Chelsea's Official Ticketing Partner and tickets are digital
  • Some lower-demand fixtures may still be sold on general sale rather than by ballot
Membership tiers for 2026-27:
  • A paid membership is required to apply for home tickets - the 2026-27 ladder runs Ticket Forwarding, Junior Blue, CFC Blue, True Blue and the new True Blue+
  • Tiers run from roughly £15 a year at the entry level up to around £80 for True Blue+ - check memberships.chelseafc.com for current tier prices and benefits
  • Ticket Exchange access is included on the paid membership tiers (Junior Blue, CFC Blue, True Blue and True Blue+); the basic Ticket Forwarding tier does not include it
Loyalty points and the waitlist:
  • Loyalty points are now earned only by attending men's first-team home matches, credited after your ticket is scanned at the turnstile - buying tickets no longer earns points
  • Your position on the season ticket waitlist is set by cumulative loyalty points over a rolling three-season basis
  • Waitlist eligibility requires a True Blue or Junior Blue membership, renewed annually to hold your position
  • For a first-time visitor with no attendance history, high-demand matches are very hard through the ballot - build points over repeat visits, or use hospitality and verified marketplaces below
One-time ID verification (required):
  • Supporters aged 16 and over must complete a one-time online ID verification before they can access or buy tickets
  • Do this well ahead of any sale so you are ready when a window opens
Ticket Exchange (your backup plan):
  • Season ticket holders resell tickets they cannot use at face value through the official Ticket Exchange
  • Ticket forwarding and Ticket Exchange are now open until three hours before kick-off, so face-value returns can appear right up to matchday
  • Available to members on the tiers that include Ticket Exchange access - worth checking in the days before a match if the ballot did not come through
What is realistic for visitors:
  • Lower-demand Premier League matches and early cup rounds: your best chance as a new member
  • London derbies, top-six clashes and Champions League knockouts: very hard without attendance history, so hospitality or verified marketplaces are the realistic route
  • Season ticket holders must now use their seat for a minimum of 13 Premier League home games to keep their renewal eligibility
💡

When Official Tickets Work

  • Complete your online ID verification early - supporters 16 and over cannot buy or access tickets without it
  • Apply any time inside the ballot window; selection is random, so early clicks do not help
  • For one-time visitors or big matches, hospitality and verified marketplaces are the more realistic route

Transport for London

Fulham Broadway

5-minute walk | District Line | Most direct route. Take District Line (green) towards Wimbledon. Use main exit for direct route to stadium entrance.

Journey time: Approximately 15-20 minutes from central London
Frequency: Service every 3-5 minutes on matchdays
Cost: Standard Oyster card or contactless payment accepted

Tips:

  • Arrive at least 90 minutes before kickoff - Fulham Broadway gets extremely crowded close to kickoff
  • Use the main exit at Fulham Broadway for direct route to stadium entrance

Pre-Match Pubs & Atmosphere

Fulham Broadway pubs get packed 2-3 hours before kickoff. Here's where locals actually go and what you need to know. Note: Chelsea's pub scene is concentrated around Fulham Broadway and the King's Road, well away from other London clubs' territories.

The Cock Tavern

3-minute walk from stadium

Atmosphere: Loud, Passionate, Traditional Chelsea

The proper Chelsea pub. Right by the Shed End, covered in blue memorabilia, singing starts early. This is where you go for the authentic supporter experience. Gets absolutely rammed before big matches.

Entry notes: Match ticket required. Home fans only. Arrive 2+ hours early or you won't get in.

The Butcher's Hook

2-minute walk from Fulham Broadway

Atmosphere: Traditional, Historic, Busy

Historic Chelsea pub with memorabilia and outdoor seating. Popular pre-match spot but slightly calmer than The Cock. Good mix of locals and visiting supporters.

Entry notes: Match ticket required on big matchdays. Primarily home fans.

The Imperial

About a 7-minute walk from Fulham Broadway

Atmosphere: Refurbished gastro pub, football-friendly

Now a refurbished gastro pub, a slightly longer walk from the ground than the Fulham Broadway pubs. Still football-friendly with a relaxed feel and a proper food menu. A good option if you want a sit-down meal away from the pre-match crush.

Entry notes: Ticket recommended for big matches. Check away fan policy for specific fixtures.

💡

Pub Strategy

  • The Cock Tavern is the authentic Chelsea experience - but arrive 2+ hours early or skip it
  • Big derbies = match ticket required at most pubs, strictly enforced
  • Away fans: check each pub's policy or stick to central London pubs before taking the District Line

Matchday Traditions & Atmosphere

Pre-Match Build-Up

Fans gather around Stamford Bridge hours before kickoff, particularly along Fulham Road and around the Shed End. The area fills with supporters in blue, street vendors sell scarves and programmes, and fans visit the Peter Osgood statue outside the stadium. Pubs along Fulham Broadway fill up early, creating a lively atmosphere that builds toward kickoff.

Inside Stamford Bridge

The Shed End is the traditional home of the most vocal supporters, where you'll hear iconic chants like 'Blue is the Colour' and 'Carefree' throughout the match. The Matthew Harding Stand also generates significant atmosphere. The stadium's compact design means all sections feel close to the pitch, creating an intense matchday experience. Pre-kickoff, the team's anthem plays as players emerge from the tunnel.

After the final whistle, fans typically head to pubs along Fulham Broadway or into central London. The area around the stadium clears gradually, with many supporters staying to discuss the match at nearby venues. Public transport gets busy immediately after matches, so expect crowds at Fulham Broadway station.

💡

Visitor Tips

  • The Shed End offers the best supporter atmosphere - away fans are in the upper tier
  • Learn 'Blue is the Colour' and 'Carefree' - you'll hear them constantly
  • The compact ground means every seat feels close to the pitch
