- Stations get very busy immediately after full time, a pre-match pint while the crowd clears is the smart play
Recommendation: Direct Southern trains from London Victoria to Selhurst (closest) or from London Bridge to Norwood Junction are the easiest ways in. There is no tube to Selhurst Park.

Pre-Match Scene
Fans arrive by train into Selhurst, Thornton Heath and Norwood Junction and walk up toward the ground through residential South London streets. Pubs like The Clifton Arms fill early and get packed, with home supporters spilling into beer gardens before kickoff. Selhurst Park sits in a tight residential setting, so there is no big stadium plaza, the buildup happens in the pubs and on the walk in. The famous "Glad All Over" (the Dave Clark Five song) plays as the teams come out, and the crowd bounces along to it.
Inside Selhurst Park
The Holmesdale Road Stand is the heart of the noise, home to the Holmesdale Fanatics, an ultra-style group formed in 2005 who bring drums, flags and large choreographed tifos. When they get going, Selhurst is one of the loudest grounds in the Premier League for its size. You'll hear "Glad All Over" and continental-style chanting led from the Holmesdale end. Away fans are housed in the Arthur Wait Stand along the side. The ground is old-school and compact, which keeps the sound in and the atmosphere close to the pitch.
After the Match
Fans head back to Selhurst, Thornton Heath and Norwood Junction for trains toward London Victoria and London Bridge. The stations get busy straight after full time, so pubs near the ground stay full for a while as people wait out the crush. Direct trains make the trip back into central London simple.
